It is time once again to sign up for the Tour de Max. For those of you who don’t know about this ride, it is a benefit for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and is organized by Tom Yonker in memory of his wife Max Yonker who passed away in May of 2005 after a long struggle with cancer. Proceeds from the event will go to LAF and local cancer charities.
The details: This is an incredibly scenic ride that starts and ends in Menlo Park (there may be a new starting location this year). There is a metric century (67 miles) that goes over Page Mill Rd. out to Pescadero and then climbs back up Tunitas Creek Rd. If you like climbing through the redwoods, this is the course for you. There is also a 40 mile short course for those of you who do not want to commit to lots of climbing. Afterward, there is a raffle with tons of cool prizes and an all you can eat BBQ. Tyler and Jonathan surely remember my baked bean eating prowess last year.
